Get data connectors in Power BI Desktop

Hi,

Can we have a Get data connection to source (on premise DB) from PowerBI desktop via Data Gateway ? 

If yes, please let me know how to configure.

I don't really understand your description.
Are you experiencing is the following scenario:
You have connected to a local data source using Power BI Desktop and then created reports to publish to Power BI Service and now you want to configure a gateway for this data source.

No, i don't want to use Power BI desktop, can i do all my development work in PBI service like Getdata, Modelling, DAX etc.
How to Getdata via Datagateway, for development & design of the reports
