Excel Data - Power Platform - Power BI Data Set pane empty

Hi Everyone,

I'm facing an annoying issue in Excel. We have a Power BI Data Set that we try to reach via Excel > From Power Platform > From Power BI. Basically we have multiple users with the same permissions (AD group level permission). Some just see a data set like expected:

For others it seems their window/pane is not rendered correctly or something:

If I provide a template file where I already connected to the data set, they are able to browse and interact with the data set. It's just the pane to get there is empty...

My only recommendation currently is to use the workaround and request a re-install for Excel which is tedious.

Anyone else faced this?

Thanks

Yves

HI @PaginatedDino

Do you mean that even if users with the same privileges can see different data after connecting to the dataset?

Hi @Anonymous,

Yes exactly the same permissions because it's on group level. Also the user with the empty pane tried it on a another colleague's pc and signed in on Office 365 with his account and then it worked. It seems to have to do with the local installation of Excel or an update...? This is not a single case by the way, there are several colleagues. Some time ago it worked and then suddenly this empty pane.

Seemed to be a bug in Excel. Reinstall of Excel has fixed it.
