Enabling Bookmarks changes dropdown layout

Hello

I'm in the process of creating a landing page; which has a number of buttons (icons) that link by means of the bookmark feature to various reports that exist within my solution. Each of the reports work as they should; however as soon as you link to the these reports by means of the landing page; the layout/formatting of the two report change.

An example of this being that in one of the reports I have two dropdown filters (including year and name), these function as they should when viewin the invididual report however as soon as the link from the landing page; the dropdown filters change to a list view and throws the formatting out completely.

Any ideas as to why this would be the case and how to go about resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Below are screenshots depicting the scenario.

Hi @diederd,

Please check if you hot this limitation

  • If you add a visual on a report page after creating a bookmark, the visual will be displayed in its default state. This also means that if you introduce a slicer into a page where you previously created bookmarks, the slicer will behave in its default state.

If not, please share us detail steps to reproduce the issue.

Qiuyun.

Thank you for prompt reply; to answer your question I have completed the following when creating the report:

- created both reports from scratch (two separate tabs), together with all the visuals

- confirmed that these were working as expected prior to creating the landing page

- lastly created the landing page, together with the associated bookmarks (linked these to the above reports)

- this is when I experience the odd behavior in relation to the visuals layout

Let me know should you require any further details.

Thanks!

Hi @diederd,

Is it possible to create a reproduced pbix file with dummy data and share it with us? You can upload example pbix file to your OneDrive and share the link here.

Qiuyun,

This morning I had decided to simply start from scratch regarding the Power BI report I've been working on; it's taken most of the morning however the good news is that it's working as expected now.

I've been testing throughout the afternoon and all appears to be functioning as it should. I'll continue my testing throughout today; although not sure if anything has changed but it's working which is all that matters!

Thank you again for your assistance/help on the matter.

Hi @diederd,

From your description, it seems the issue is gone now, right?

By the way, there is a new Power BI desktop version 2.52.4921.682 you can try if you create the report in desktop.

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
