Dropdown Slicer Bug

When using the dropdown slicer, the slicer displays the choice that was not picked instead of the choice that was picked.

Screenshots below. There are two users, Dan Edwards and Reggie Hill. When I choose Dan Edwards, the slicer displays Reggie Hill. This is confusing to the person looking at the data, and to anyone looking at a screenshot of the data.

If you have more than 2 choices on the dropdown, and you choose 1, the slider displays "Multiple Selected" even though only 1 box has been checked.

I’m not able to repro the same issue as you. I test with one column table as below in Nov 2016 version of Power BI Desktop and the slicer displays well.

Is there any other repro steps missed here? If possible, could you please provide your PBIX file which can be used to reproduced to me? You can upload it to online file service (like OneDrive) and share it.

I found out a little more. It works correctly if you leave the settings for the Selection Controls at default, but if you change the settings to Select All = 'ON' and Single Select = "Off", that is when it happens.

I appologize, I don't have access to OneDrive, but I can find another way if my explanation is not sufficient to reproduce the bug.

Thanks for you information, I can repro this issue locally now.

I’ve reported it internally: CRI 27338151

I’ll post here once I get any update from Power BI team.

I'm having issues with the new drop down slicer too.

When I use the slicer in drop down mode and I select a single item, the dropdown slicer display reads, 'multiple items'

This is going to confuse users, I'm going to keep it in list mode or use custom slicers until I see this remedied.

The fix for this issue should be available in January 2017. Please check it later.

This still seems to be a bug.  When I have a single item selected in my dropdown it displays "Multiple selections".  This happens when I select all and then delselect until I'm just left with a single selection.  It looks like this was accepted as a bug over two years ago.  is there any update on when it might be fixed?

I'm also seeing this bug in a dropdown slicer that has Selection Control settings Select All = 'On' and Single Select = 'Off'. If I start from the default ("All" displaying on the dropdown) and deselect all but one of the options, the dropdown then displays "Multiple selections". This is confusing/misleading to users.

The bug does not occur if the user first clicks the Select All box to deselect all options and then selects one option. In that case the option chosen is the one displayed when moving the focus away from the drop-down menu.

I'm really surprised that this kind of common/visible bug could exist in a product like Power BI for 3 years without being fixed or reported back to the community by MS after having promised a fix in January 2017. Can you still reproduce it? Is the internal ticket number CRI 27338151 still open?
