Custom Period Filter for Date Range

I've created a Period Filter in my report which contained custom for users to select a specific date range. A measure has been created so that if Custom was selected the date range would be activated. All works as expected however once the end user applies a specific date range the date filter (between) doesn't look right. It somehow maintains the date selected. This should revert back to blank as intended.
