Communication performance

Hi team, In the recent weeks, we have been experience data refresh performance issue with some off our dataset, Exist an problem with the performance? We would like to identify the root cause.

Could you help us with the communication performance between our secondary server and our Power Bi Reports?

The problem is in the Dataset and Dataflow, for example our Dataflow “BD SALES” only have one query (Ventas UNITE) with two references table.

Sometimes the update takes 30 minutes and other times maximum 4 minutes.

Status: Investigating

Hi @SaúlBohórquez1,

Determined by the refresh process of dataflow, it’s hard to promise the refresh duration time always short as the refresh resources are shared. To use reserved resources for quicker refresh, you may consider Premium capacity. But you still need to notice that there is a know issue that long running dataflows may happen and the product group is trying to improve the performance.

As of 07/25/2022, Power BI premium customers using Dataflows will have a more reliable experience running dataflow refreshes. For customers who are still experiencing long running refreshes or refreshes stuck in cancelling state we recommend splitting complex dataflows, limiting the total number of queries per dataflow, and strategically planning scheduled refreshes on premium capacities. On 08/29/2022 we brought another wave of improvements into production, and we are continuing to invest in further improvements. Expect more information from us by 09/26/2022. Please refer to the Power BI Dataflow known issues documentation for more details and suggested next steps.
