Background Color Control for the Mobile Report Layout

My main report has black background and white text.  When trying to create a mobile view of the report in Phone Layout, I cannot set the background color I want and this causes the text to disappear vs. the default white background, when viewing it on the phone. 

Please add functionality to control the background color in the Phone Report Layout view.

Indeed @hwllpcpa - did you ever find an answer?  Perhaps @Anonymous (who confirmed this in 2017) can chime in if still around.

I'm using PowerBI Desktop Feb'22 release and I'm also baffled by lack of canvas controls in mobile layout view and the lack of documentation for this delivered feature.  What are we missing?

Hi @ChristiaanB ,

It is not a complete solution, but one workaround is to switch the theme to "Innovate" while configuring visuals in the mobile view.  This makes the background a charcoal color and allows for white text and other white-colored elements to remain visible while editing.

I too am surprised by the lack of controls provided in this feature.  I'm not sure if this is the fix Herbert was referring to, but I would agree there is some functionality and documentation left to be desired.

It's possible. In BI desktop go out of mobile view. Then change the CANVAS colour, or even add a back ground image. Then it will appear in mobile. 

The default for changing the colour in the main "web view" seems to be the wall paper, but for some weird reason this doesn't reflect in mobile view. But canvas does.
