"Save to OneDrive and SharePoint" information dialog indicates .pbip files are ".pbix"

When I have a .pbip file open, the preview "Save to OneDrive and SharePoint" dialog displays the current Name as ... ".pbix".

This is a hinderance because I'd love to be able to quickly tell if I'm in a pbip file, to help with trying to switch to .pbip files as standard, and this dialog would be ideal for giving that information but displays the file type as ".pbix" instead.

Hi @andrewpirie ,

This might not be an issue. Due to functionality limitations, only pbix files can be uploaded here so it won't show .pbip extension.

Please refer to the following highlighted limitation from Power BI Desktop OneDrive and SharePoint integration - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.

This dialog is a file information dialog that was added in the SharePoint and OneDrive support release, however I believe it should display correct information for both files stored in SharePoint/OneDrive, and for files stored on disk.

Currently this file information dialog lists general information about the file - the name of the report, sensitivity of the report, and the file's location, and under the general file information, it has a "Upload your file to OneDrive" section with an upload button. The Name field seems to have a static extension ".pbix" beside "Name" instead of the file's actual filetype. The dialog lists the correct file location, sensitivity label, but incorrect Name due to the static extension listed.

Below the file information section, there is a "Upload your file to OneDrive" header and button that is clearly specific to uploading to OneDrive.

@laurenfaber I'm slowly trying to change my working files from pbix to pbip, where I need to check the filetype of the file I have open regularly, and it would be super helpful to be able to see whether my current file is a pbix or pbip from the new dialog :).

@andrewpirie, I agree that the title bar should show the correct file type. Let me look into this! Thanks!
