Hello,   Lately, we have issues with automatic update in PBI online accounts. I have 2 different reports, each has different CSV data source from our server. Almost every day the auto update fails.   During update one of the reports, PBI tries to update both data sources at once, do not know why. Additionaly, the update process sends 2, sometimes even more GET requests on the server at a time. First request is stopped by PBI during downloading the file. Usually, PBI sends requests, our server answers and sends the whole file successfully, but PBI do not use it and it ends with error anyway. We have tried to check all time limits on our side, but it seems to be OK. It is the same with small and large files.   Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.. The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface. We have a Power BI daily status report that is published to the power bi service and shared with users.  Users subscribe to the main report page to receive a daily status update via email.   The report was edited in the Power BI Desktop service to add a new visual on the main page. The name of that page was not changed. After the report was published to the Power BI service, users stopped receiving the daily email update. When they signed onto Power BI service to view their subscription status, they now see the word "Draft" next to the repport page name. The only fix is for them to delete that subscription and then resubscribe to that page.   This is tremendously inconvenient-- we need to be able to edit our reports without breaking subscriptions.      ... I've noticed that the right-click drill-through is no longer working in published reports.     The menu doesn't appear on right-click.      It was working fine last week I believe   It works as expected in Desktop and also PBIS     Many of our users rely on the drill-though functionality to view line level detail   Hopefully it can be corrected soon   Thanks Ryan       ... Having issues showing all the data in the Stack Column chart when using the Legend feature.   Here's the view with no Legend. It's a count of deals by week: Stacked Column Chart No Legend (Note Max value) I have a column with Reseller names associated with these deals.  I added it to the Legend and get below.  The columns are shorter than without the legend, so I'm missing data: Stacked Column Chart, Adding Reseller column in Legend (Note max is less) I have a column to filter between ADR/DMP (DMP are all the Reseller names that begin with a-, there are thousands of distinct "a-" values, though in any given week, there aren't that many to display, there are only a few hundred ADR names (no a-)).  This view I filter for ADR and see a subset, with peak around 20ish. Filtering on ADR (different view) Next if I filter on DMP, I get the original view with no filter.  The peak column is 10.  Filtering on DMP (same as no filter) I suspect there's a legend buffer limitation, and the thousands of a- names (DMP) overflow the buffer so no ADR names get shown in the non-filtered view (as they start after the a- names alphabetically), so I'm not seeing all the data.    So is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?     ... There is an issue with the relative date slicer in Power BI service - one cannot select different options.   For instance, if you start creating a new report in the service and create a relative date slicer visual, you cannot change its default settings.   Or if you have a report developed in Power BI Desktop with a relative date slicer in it, when published to the service, you cannot select a different option for the slicer.   ... IE and Edge seems to crash when viewing a report witch specific type of chart. Problem occurs at least in this configuration: Windows 10 ver. 1703 64bit, IE 11.1088.15063.0, Edge  40.15063.674.0, Power BI Desktop 2.59.5135.421 64-bit Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new Power BI report with Power BI Desktop. 2. Get data from somewhere or enter data manually (you should have at least 2 columns, a category-field and a number-field, a few rows is enough). Data itself doesn't seem to matter (where it comes from, etc) in order to reproduce the problem. 3. Add Line and Clustered Column Chart to the report 4. Add the Category-field as shared axis and the number-field as the line 5. Make sure the settings for the line are as follows: https://imgur.com/a/pBTbSMY (Format -> Shapes -> Stroke Width:4, Join Type:Bevel, Line Style: Solid, Show markers: On, Marker style: circle, Marker size: 6) 7. Login and view the published report What happens: The browser starts to load the report but after a few seconds it crashes to an unknown cause What should happen: The report should load normally to be viewable and clickable I think the problem is related to the markers on the line graph. The line seems to be missing the markers when the browser crashes. After a few crashes, the browser somehow is able to load the report and everything is working fine. When I download a pbix file from a workspace in a pipeline, upon opening the downloaded file, there is an alert that changes need to be applied.   If I go to transform data before applying changes, it renders 0 queries.   If I apply changes, all of the queries disappear and the report visuals break.   If I discard changes, the report works as it should and all data queries are still there and relationships are still active.   This is only happening if I downloaded the file from the Test or Prod workspaces of the pipeline. Field parameters - Default sorting order resets When there is a drill down provided in the Visual (BUG). "When incorporating a visual with applied field parameters and enabling drill-down functionality, an issue arises when attempting to sort a measure in ascending or descending order. It seems that each time parameters are modified, the sorting preference is reset. Is there a viable solution to address this issue?" The sort does work proper if there is no drill down. Currently the line chart "step" line type will change values half way between each data point which tricks the eye into thinking a value changed at a specific point in time, when it didn't.   A "step after" interpolation mode should be implemented so that the value of the first data point is held until the value of the second data point. Linear interpolation between points might be helpful in some use cases but comparing between interpolated values is often useless when your data is relatively sparse and especially when your data points are not aligned in time (so you end up comparing a real data point to an interpolated data point).   Most other BI / visualisation tools have a "step after" interpolation mode where the value of a point is held until the next data point.   Work arounds include things like creating date spines (causes issues with knowing which points are reall data points), using line charts (and making the comparisons inacrruate), or using bar charts (making comaprisons between points in time difficult).     ... Hello,    I have been using Power BI Desktop and the Service for the last 3 years everyday and over the past week I have noticed that the Power BI Service is much slower than it has ever been. It can take 5-10 seconds per click in our environment in West US and in our customer environment.    I noticed the most lag when I enter edit mode and try to change up reports. When I try to drag a new field on to the canvas from the data fields pane, you use to be able to see the field name next to the mouse cursor as you dragged around the canvas however now it seems glitchy and can take up to 5 seconds to appear.    We did a webinar last week and have all of this abnormal latency recorded. We do not use Power BI Premium.    Has anyone else seen anything similar? Please help us get back to user experience that we are used to!   Thanks,    David ... View more

Currently I am using a Matrix visual to show data, and have turned off auto-column sizing and set the column sizes manually. Currently if the user filters the table to where there are blank values in the Matrix (in this case a year with no data), and then returns to a year with data, the total column reverts to the default size, which then hides some of the number.          Total before Filtering Matrix after filtering     ... The A-->Z sorting option is not working in Chart Visualizations in the May 2018 update.  Despite multiple attempts, the sort feature seems locked to Z--->A only.     This is highly disruptive as all charts are now defaulting to Z--->A sorting and cannot be set to A--->Z.   ... View more

Hi!    Today we discovered a very annoying bug: when exporting with the current layout, Power BI is not picking really the "current", but the first level available in the hierarchy.   In the below example, you see my matrix is showing the attributed "GBF" which is the third in the hierarchy. However, when I export with current layout, Excel shows the Region, which is the first item in the hierarchy.   The workaround for now is to delete the first two attributes so it works, but this is new! In the line and clustered column chart and line and stacked column chart visuals, there is the option to use two measures, and view them displayed on either one or two y axis. On basic, single-measure visuals where small multiples are used, the y axis can synchronise across the differnt small measures using the 'shared y axis' option in the visual options.    The issue is that when the two-measure visuals try to use small multiples, the y axis do not work properly. The secondary measure will not be taken into account when the axis range is designed.   I'm guessing that this is the result of the small multiples feature for these charts not having the axis designed to use the highest of all values. The range of the shared y-axis is determined entirely by the primary measure used, and not by the full range of both of the primary and secondary.     I have prepared an example pbix and visuals (fake data). As you can see, the y axis cuts out at the 800 mark, when it should go up to above 2000. The problem occurs regardless of whether the small multiple panes are vertically or horizontally aligned.   Compare this to how the data looks if it was shown on two seperate visuals   The Target value for Man-USA is very high, but in the first picture (blue columns) , the number is displayed correctly on the tooltip but the marker is too low.     ...
