Visual Level Relative Date Filter Disappearing From Filter Pane

I have a Visualization where I am applying Relative date filtering, such as "in the last 24 months".  Once I hit "Apply filter" it applies the filter to the Visualization correctly.  However as soon as I click off of the Visualization, and then back to the Visualization, I can no longer tell that Relative filtering is applied.  The Relative filtering is still applied to the Visualization correctly (I think) but there is nothing telling me that the Visualization has been filtered, which is very confusing when building a report.  The pictures below are from the same Visualization, the first one when I applied the filter, the second one when I clicked off the Visualization and then back onto it.  In both cases the filter is applied, but you can only tell that in the first picture.

Based on my test in the latest Power BI desktop version 2.52.4921.682 64-bit (November 2017), after we apply the relative filter, release the control in the visual then back to the visual, as long as we don't modify any options in filter, the Apply Filter is greyed out.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft thanks for responding.  I just tried to make the functionality in the video work again and I am getting mixed results.  If I connect to an Excel spreadsheets with dates in it, the relative date filtering works correctly.

However, if you are connected to a SQL Services Analysis Services Database, the functionality does not work (as explained in my original post).  Can you try and duplicate my original post connected to a SQL Services Analysis Services Database?

I'm not able to reproduce the issue with SSAS cube live connection. Please try to run the same desktop version as ours to test again.

I am on the same version as you noted, I tried the same test as you with the Adventure Works Cube, and it works like your video (it is correct).

I wonder if it has something to do with my date being part of a hierarchy?  I am doing the Relative Date Filter on Sales Line Created Date, whch is part of the Sales Line Created Calendar Hierarchy...

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

I was wondering if you might try and duplicate this issue, with your date as part of a Hierarchy (see my example above). 

I am not sure if this is best practice, but it seems to me that when designing a Cube that will be connected to Power BI, it would be best practice to set your dates up in a Hierarchy.  If I don't do a Hierarchy, like in the Adventures Works Cube, it makes it very difficult to use graphs with dates in Power BI / or filter dates.  By using a Date Hierarchy, Power BI works very well, I can use the Drilldown feature to view my data by Year, Quarter, Month / or I can filter by Year, Quarter, Month etc.  I think a lot of Users will have their dates in a Hierarchy, and I think the Relative Date Filtering does not work well with a Hierarchy.
