Using Web URL to dial phone

We have a buiness contact table that we are presenting with PowerBI.  For email addresses, I was able to create a new column formatted as "mailto:"&[email address], and categorize the column as a web URL.  When added to a report, you can click on the link and it launches Outlook, which is very useful.  I would like to do something similar with phone numbers and SIP dialing.  I created a column formatted as "SIP:"&[mobile number], and categorized it as a Web URL.  When added to a report, however, the column is not a hyperlink.

I know the formatting is correct, because if I put "SIP:920-555-1212" in a browser, the Cisco phone system will recognize the URL and dial my desk phone.  Any ideas why PowerBI will not respect the new column as a Web URL?

Hi @eruffolo,

SIP link type is not supported in Power BI, see: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/#urlTables

You can submit a feature request in Ideas forum.
