Usage Metrics - Page Views Blank

Within Usage Metrics across our various Workspaces, I noticed the Page Views drastically began to reduce and/or go blank beginning on 5/15/24 and it has not been fixed since. This only affects the Page Users & Page View data....it is not affecting the Report Usage data.

For any Workspace where there was not previously a Usage Metrics report built and/or hasn't refreshed in a while, the Page Views are completely blank.

There have been no network and/or Power BI changes made in our Tenant recently.

Anyone else seeing this? We have added a lot of additional vsiuals from the usage metrics so it's quite useful to have accurate Page View data.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You may try update the credentials that Power BI uses to refresh the usage metrics data

Initializing the Usage Metrics Report semantic model might take a few minutes, resulting in showing a blank usage metrics report because the Power BI user interface does not wait for the refresh to finish. Check the refresh history in the Usage Metrics Report semantic model settings to verify that the refresh operation succeeded.

Unfortunately, the credentials and refresh history is not the issue. Both are working as expected, reset, etc.

It's very clear something started to happen beginning on 5/15. This issue isn't specific to our primary workspace/organizational App, but it's the one where the issue is easiest to identify:

This started happening in our tenant over the past few weeks. In talking with Microsoft support we got similar feedback that network changes, ad blockers, etc. might be the culprit. However, as a company browser extensions are controlled so we can rule ad blockers and we've had no evidence that network activity is being blocked.

Hoping this gets more attention - I'm really surprised that page-level usage reporting is not a standard and easily-accessible feature in this product.
