Unexpected error: Invalid database name in October 2017 release

This was working before. When opening Power BI and going to Recent Sources, select a SSAS cube to which you have connected before and you get an unexpected error "Invalid database name". However, it's valid.

We're using the Power BI Report Server October 2017 version. It was working fine with the June version. Anyone with this problem? Users are getting tired of typing in the server name!

Thanks,

Sandra Treviño

Hi @Anonymous,

This is a bug in the underlying PBI Desktop (PBI Desktop for RS is typically 4 months older than the PBI Desktop for the service) so the fix will propagate to PBI Desktop for RS when the underlying PBI Desktop team fixes the issue.

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
