Unable to read data from the transport connection

Hello,

Lately, we have issues with automatic update in PBI online accounts. I have 2 different reports, each has different CSV data source from our server. Almost every day the auto update fails.

During update one of the reports, PBI tries to update both data sources at once, do not know why. Additionaly, the update process sends 2, sometimes even more GET requests on the server at a time. First request is stopped by PBI during downloading the file. Usually, PBI sends requests, our server answers and sends the whole file successfully, but PBI do not use it and it ends with error anyway.

We have tried to check all time limits on our side, but it seems to be OK. It is the same with small and large files.

Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.. The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface.

Next refresh for name_of_the_file is scheduled for 01/13/2017 07:45:00.

Did this issue happen to the same two reports before? I tried to test the same scenario as you but cannot repro the same issue. Is there any special setting/configuration?

Dear Herbert,

We have app. 30 clients and everyone has each own free account with 2 reports = 60 autoupdates per day. Today I recieved 11/30 errors, 17/30 yesterday. Distribution is random every day. So yes, this issue happened more than once to the same reports. In late November, it was usually 1 error of this type per week in total. Nothing changed on our side since then and we use the same reports.

Can the report be refreshed successfully if using manual refresh instead of automatic refresh?

Yes, but there is also 30-40 % failure rate, so I need to do that more than once.

I have the same issue on some manual and scheduled refresh :

We no change on the report the issue occur and disapear.

Good to hear we are not alone.

The number of errors has decreased on half last month. Nobody knows why and when it increases again. No changes in our reports as well.

This is the error message: 

Error: DataSource.Error: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

We are trying to read CSV files from a SharePoint.

Hi!

Same issue here. 

Downloading a couple of Excel files from OneDrive. Most are working, but one query keeps getting this error:

DataSource.Error: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Does anyone has a solution?
