Unable to publish pbix to Power BI - Impala source- 5MB

Hi,

I m using Impala for data source and was able to connect and import data.

However, when I try to publish the PBIX, its failing.

Data size is only 5 MB and hence shouldn't be a problem.

I suspect this to be a firewall/ proxy issue as I m unable to publish for other sources as well from the same box.

Are there any ports that need to be opened in order to facilitate publish to Power BI?

Thanks in advance.

What is the error message when the publish failed? Can you sign into Power BI Service properly in your network? If yes, you can try to publish your PBIX file through Get Data - Files - Local File - Select your PBIX file in Power BI Service.

Best Regards,
Herbert

Thanks for the reply @v-haibl-msft @Vicky_Song

Yes. I m able to sign-in into Power BI Service.

I replicated this report in import mode and managed to publish it successfully. Its failing only in Direct Query.

Its a simple report with one bar chart visual to display Product vs Sum of Order Value (Default Summarization). The error is as shown below in the snapshot - "(500) Internal Server Error."

Have you tried to publish your PBIX file through Get Data - Files - Local File - Select your PBIX file in Power BI Service?

Yes. The report has only 1 table ... and there are no measures/ Calculated columns that have been created yet.

Do I need to configure on-premises gateway for Direct Query/ Live connection to work with Impala Data Source?

The error snapshot is provided below:

Impala is not supported yet for refresh. Please refer to 'Considerations and Limitations' section of https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-connect-impala/

Thanks for clarifying.

We cannot publish reports in Direct Query as data refresh is not supported.

As per the email I received from Microsoft support, data refresh should be expected by end of Summer 2017.
