Unable to open any PBIX

I am having two issues that are basically making my whole data estate and data visualization processes within PowerBI completely inoperable.

#1 -  Anytime I try to open a PBIX I am met with the following error:

"We weren't able to restore the saved database to the model".

ExecuteXmla failed with result

# 2 -Anytime I try to create a new PBIX and add data sources, I run into the following error:

Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'The following system error occurred: Class not registered
'.

This issue occurs with flat files, workbooks, SQL server, Cosmos, ADLS2, no matter what I can't do anything. I've updated my laptop, reinstalled Power BI Desktop, reinstalled all the MS DB Drivers (OLE, ODB) and nothing works.

Hi @Anonymous

For your first question , did you publish your report to Power BI Service ? If yes, you can try to download the .pbix file from Power BI Service and then open it in Desktop .

For your second question . What is your current Desktop version? If it is not the latest version, it is recommended to uninstall the previous version and install the latest version .
