Unable to delete report from service

I have one report, which I am not able to delete from the service. I can also not overwrite it from PBI Desktop, and the Rest API returns 404.

In the service, I start by clicking the remove button.

I then confirm deletion.

Javascript makes the report disappear from the interface.

But it shows back up as soon as I refresh the page.

This report used to be called something else, obviously. It used to be called the same as another report in the same workspace, but this report was not overwritten when I uploaded the new version (an issue that I have reported before):

Hi @CasperLehmann,

I tested with your steps here without any issue. I would suggest you check these items below.

1. The REST API requires DELETE method.

2. Though they have the same name, the IDs are different.

3. The response in the Python script has a RequestId part. Can you post it here?

Dale

You are right, I did seem to leave out the delete method.

For some reason I was able to finally delete the report this morning through the interface. So I can no longer check what went wrong. What I do know is that deleting other reports worked both before and after.

I'm not sure what can be done to track down the problem now though, since I'm no longer experiencing it. Feel free to mark my issue as solved or pass on the report as you see fit.

I'm glad the issue is gone. Indeed, this kind of issue is hard to reproduce. Thanks for your feedback.

Dale
