Unable to access the powerbi apps with Semantic model in another workspace

I have created a set of reports with data source in workspace A and use one of the report as semantic model as powerbi data source.

As the all report filter has different choices for the users, I use apps to have an easy view for the users and share the link to let the users to use the report through the apps.

As I have another group of users(Level 2 users) that can access less pages or sensitive information and I still need to use apps to share the report with them, I created workspace B by copying the report from workspace A and still using the same semantic model in workspace A.

I set the security and permission for all the users correctly and share the apps link with them, all of them get the below error message

Even in any other browsers or tried many any other methods, the level 2 users are getting the same error.

Finally I got the solution, when the user click to any link to access one of the report in workspace B, then go back to the apps. The apps is fine to use afterwards.

Is this a bug can be solved for me? thanks.

Status: Investigating

Hi @RoyCalex ,

You may try re-publishing the app in workspace B, and ensure that all Level 2 users have the correct permissions to access the reports in workspace B. Double-check that the permissions are set correctly for both the workspace and the individual reports.
Make sure that the links you are sharing with Level 2 users are up-to-date and correctly point to the reports in workspace B. Finaly, ask the Level 2 users to clear their browser cache and cookies.

Best regards.

Hi Caitlyn,

For the existing user, any above can't help to access the report, until the user clicked the report link.

I replicate to have one more workspace with same setting today with below findings

1. Existing user that clicked on the report link before, they can access any apps normall.

2. I added another user , when first login, the same error appear in both previous or new workspace , until the user clicked the report link.

I think it is clear about the finding and I found the solution just hope that this bug can be fixed.
