Unable to Install Power BI Desktop update (January 2022)

Hi,

We have 2 servers. One has PBI Report Server (W2k16), the other one PBI Desktop (W2k19)

Installation of January 2022 version fails. I have tried the September 2021 msi package, the same thing happens.

If I try to unistall Windows asks me for the source. So I'm stuck !

The logs are quite poor.

Does anyone know how to fix this ? 

Any help will be apppreciated.

Hi, 

If you usually met the issues of upgrading the Power BI desktop, I suggest you to uninstall the current version and install the Power BI Desktop from the Microsoft store, it will help you to automatically upgrade if there is a new version release:

Thank you for helping but since we tried & failed to install the January update we can't even uninstall the current version. This is very weird.

Sorry, but I can't understand your error message in this language, have you tried downloading some brute force removal software from the web to remove the current Power BI desktop and redownload Power BI Desktop from the Microsoft store?
