Are you using the latest June 2017 version of Power BI Desktop? I just tested on my side and I can get the expected result as below. I'm getting data from SQL Server 2016. The data type of the column is datetime in SQL.

I was using the latest June release, but the data was loaded prior to the June release.  We have rerun the data import and all is well now. Thank you for testing it for us.
