Hello, i'm looking for getting data from my SharePoint Online document library, the library have about 25 columns, some of which are managed metadata, when  importing using Power Bi Desktop app, i get the following error

'DataSource.Error: SharePoint: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (The query cannot be completed because the number of lookup columns it contains exceeds the lookup column threshold enforced by the administrator.)
Details:
DataSourceKind=SharePoint
DataSourcePath=https://COMPNAY.sharepoint.com/sites/SITENAME
SPRequestGuid=daCDEF9e-5077-XX00-XXX-SOMENUMBERS
Url=https://COMPNAY.sharepoint.com/sites/SITENAME/_api/Web/Lists(guid'b1fFRWE11-8)(4-4323-a09f-b0978aa57...'

Which i understand because of the large number of columns

Somewhere in the fourms, someone wrote to use list service to pull the data as of the example

https://COMPNAY.sharepoint.com/sites/SITENAME/_vti_bin/listdata.svc

then select the library, which works expect it does not show any of the 5 managed metadata columns i have in that doc library

I also would like to mention this doc library have doc sets enabled and configured

any help is much appreciated

@nalhemyari ,

The limitation comes from SharePoint side, please take a look at this similar blog which also applies to SharePoint online.

You can change Resource Throttling settings in SharePoint Central Administration following the guide in this blog and check if the error goes away.

Regards,
Lydia
