Hi, I am trying to load data from Project Server into Power BI Desktop but keep getting this error message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated: I am using Power BI Desktop (x64) Version 2.61.5192.601 64-bit (August 2018).

Regards,Vanessa

Hi @VFlood,

I'm not able to reproduce the issue. After you select the Project table to retrieve data in Power BI desktop, is there any other transform steps you have performed in Query Editor for the table before loading?

Please run Fiddler with below option enabled, also enabled Power BI desktop trace,  then repeat steps to reproduce the issue, share fiddler and Power BI desktop trace with us. You can upload them to your OneDrive and share the link here.

HI there

My organisation will not allow me to install Fiddler but I have attached a link to the trace files form Power BI which are sitting on my OneDrive here https://1drv.ms/f/s!AnVJmSDJbwTqgdxsymYwlc20oGq14A.  Please also note that the URL I'm using to access my data from OData is http:// not https:// - does that make a difference?

Hi @VFlood,

It looks like you are connecting to Project on-premise server instead of Project online. To check if the issue is related to Power BI desktop, please try the same OData feed URL in Excel to see if you can load data successfully. See: https://blog.epmainc.com/connecting-excel-project-server-odata/

I have MS Excel 2010 on my machine and have just requested MS Excel 2013 which comes with the OData functionality. I will test the OData URL once my excel has been upgraded 🙂 Thanks!
