At Corning Inc we recognize and value the power of collaboration. We're beginning to use Teams to facilitate a lot of our internal, and now some of our external, collaboration. We are also developing custom apps that help our scientist to create new materials and products. A lot of collaboration needs to occur during the development process. We can already connect the custom apps to a Teams channel using the Website App add in. It would be great if we could also reverse that so that Teams is embedded directly into the custom apps (think iFrame) to enable direct in line collaboration while scientists are simultaneously working with the app. In order to make this possible, we'd need a simple way to sync a specific Teams Channel with a specific experiment within the custom app. The embedded channel that appears in the app would be relevant to the experiment. Also, it would be great that when you open the Channel in teams the experiment associated with the channel would be automatically brought up in the app. A lot of interesting integration could be accomplished if the Teams and the custom app could exchange identifiers. This sort of integration would save us from having to create our own custom collaboration capabilities within our custom apps, and would save us from having to integrate custom collaboration with our enterprise collaboration tool.
