Sharing dashboards

Hi,

When i publish a report to my workspace and share with someone they cannot see the data, but when i publish it to an app workspace and then share to them they can.

Any idea on this?

Hi @Sruti_Praturi

It is feature of Power BI that when you share a dashboard users are provided access to only view pages within the report and prevent leakage or sharing of primary tables or data. If you really want to share data then you can also create a content pack and share with people so they can also work on it and create visuals of their own.

Hi Sruti,

I guess the users you shared with are free users and the App workspace is in a Premium capacity. If so, your scenario is expected. 

If not, please provide more details.

1. Are the users free users?

2. Is the App workspace in a Premium capacity?

3. Did you apply any RLS?

4 Are there any error messages?

Apologies for not replying earlier, was pressed for time.

It was indeed a RLS issue, mopdifying them resolved the issue.
