Shape Map visual: Map Keys window is too small

In at least some scenarios the non-resizable Map Keys window is very small horizontally. This makes it necessary to scroll through a tiny window. Example with 7 columns, can only see 1 column fully at one time:

Hi @vitaly,

The default maps look great. Can you share your file through cloud drive, like Google Drive, Dropbox, then send me a private message with the link please?Shape Map visual Map Keys window is too small.PNG

Dale,

Yes, something within this specific .topojson likely triggers the bug. I've sent you a link to the repro.

Please advise on next steps.

One more item in the same area. The documentation at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-shape-map seems a little out of date. It includes the following statement:

"The release version of Shape Map will have a user interface that shows the map keys of the currently selected map; in this Preview, you can reference the map region keys in the tables found in the following Region Keys section of this article."

This UI is already implemented, at least as of November 2017 QFE release, v2.52.4921.682. So IMO the paragraph (and possibly the embedded code tables) should be removed from the documentation page.

And one more documentation glitch from the same link:

"Currently, you must also have the Values bucket set in order for the Legend classification to work properly. We anticipate improving this behavior in the final release of Shape Map."

There is no Values bucket in the current release of the component. This sentence may be referring to the "Color saturation" bucket.

@v-jiascu-msft

Can we have an update please? Are these issues in the queue for fixing?

Hi @vitaly,

I think it's reasonable in my test. Do you have a proper display? Please upgrade to the December release and try again.

This issue was fairly urgent for us, so subsequent to this post we've chased it down with PBI Pro support. They confirmed it to be a bug. It will be fixed in the February release of PBI Desktop.

The documentation items pointed out at my 2 posts from 12-04-2017 above still need to be looked into. Any feedback on them?
