SUM function cannot work with values of type String error / Couldn't Load the data for this vis

I am as well new in Power BI and have same / similar problem.

Error message: MdxScript (Model) (6, 25) calculation error in measure ‚CSV‚(Area1): The function SUM cannot work with values of type String.

Hi @NII5BG 

Please make sure the data you loaded to PowerBI desktop is in correct format, especially the calculation which should be number type.

What is the format of column [Population] ?  Can you show me the step "Inserted Division" ?
