Report Level Filter Changes on Publish

Report level filter when selected as basic filter changes to Advance filter automatically on saving the report and publishing it.

I have Month, Year and Days filter in for which i require Basic Filter option. But when I select Basic Filter and publish the report the filter for Year and Days automatically changes to advance filter option.

Secondly, i have 2 date filter 'Plan date' and 'Actual Date' where I have selected the Relative date Filter option on my desktop tool but when I publish the report it changes to Basic Filter Option on Dashboard reports.

Please provide with some solution as this reports are important and used frequently.

Hi @Anonymous,

The default filter type of Date and Text is basic filtering while it's advanced filtering for numbers. You changed the type but didn't make any selection. That's why you saw the default filter type again in the Service. You can test it yourself.

The workaround could be making some selection before saving the file.

If you want to save the changes of default filter type, please submit an idea here: https://ideas.powerbi.com.

 Hi v-jiascu-msft ,

 Thanks for the reply.

Yes I agree on your point and i m aware of it. But I have changed the datatype for 'Meeting Year' and 'Meeting Days ' as Text . But still it comes out to be advance filter on Service.

Hello!

Do you have any bookmark set on you report? it could keep the filters in bookmark so if the bookmark is not set with the filters you want it will revert everytime you access it.
