Recieved 'Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe, Version=4.0.4.1

Hey all,

Trying to refresh my datasets, but I've received an error:

Processing error: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe, Version=4.0.4.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken='' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)'
Cluster URI: WABI-US-NORTH-CENTRAL-B-redirect.analysis.windows.net

Using PostgreSQL for Azure and using NO gateways.

This issue was faced before but no info on how it was fixed - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Could-not-load-file-or-assembly-System-Runtime-CompilerServ...

Any ideas on how this could be fixed?

Thanks!

Same exact issue for me.

Same issue. I also run into that error message when trying to update the credentials on the connection to Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

Hitting that error too - also on Postgres/Azure.

Have raised a support ticket with MS - but would appreciate it if anybody has an update here.

Same issue, mostly posting to get updates 😛

Would encourage others to raise support tickets, to help MS know something's wrong at their end.

I received a response which asks me to update the dll (obviously can't do that).

Or switch to using a gateway (I really do not want to build a pet server to link two cloud services together).

If you do raise a ticket, it might be worth mentioning these two options are not viable, to save a pro-forma response.

They've offered a teams call - will report back if any updates.

Quick update from MS - looks like they've escalated it as before.

We are also seeing this issue and seems to be similar to this issue:
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Issues-connecting-to-Azure-Database-for-PostgreSQL-from-Powe...

Has anyone tried the Gateway solution as a workaround? We do not want to implement this if we do not have to as this was working fine previously.

This issue has been confirmed as a known issue internal.

Currently the workaround form PG is like @Anonymous  mentioned:

1) Install gateway (if not already installed)

2) Install postgresql driver

3) Create data source for postgresql in gateway

4) Map data source to Dataset in dataset settings page
