Q&A not working for SSAS Tabular 2017 Direct Query after activation

Hi

I've read the documentation on this link.

We're running Power BI reports in Direct Query mode to several Tabulard models on SSAS 2017 14.0.3035.2 (X64) trhough an on-premises gateway.

After activating the tick-box, i'd expect the 'ask a question' button to appear in the 'edit report' view in the service + i'd expect that on the dashboards the Q&A would be available aswel (of course ofter checking the tick-box there also).

Both are not working however.
Is this not supported or am i missing something?

Hi @TomBergmans,

Based on my test, as long as we turn on Q&A feature for the SSAS tabular live connection dataset, we can type Q&A question in the related dashboard to create a new tile. In your scenario, please ensure this option is enabled and pin the pin to a new dashboard then test again. 

As it's SSAS live connection, Ask a question feature is not supported both in Power BI desktop and Power BI service report edit mode. See: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-qna-in-reports
