Power Bi Mark as Date Table issue after November 2024 Update

After recently updating Power Bi to the November 2024 update, I am getting the "Unable to Finish Validation" message when trying to mark a date table.

Hi @tolsond ,

 

I tested this feature in the latest version 2.138.1452.0 and it works fine on my side.
What version are you using?please ensure that your Power BI Desktop is updated with the latest patches. Sometimes, issues like these are resolved in subsequent minor updates or patches.

Clear Installation Folders:

1.Navigate to the following folder locations on your computer:
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Power BI Desktop
Delete any remaining files and folders in these locations.
2.Clear Cache and Temporary Files:

Open the Run dialog by pressing Windows + R.
Type %temp% and press Enter. This will open the Temp folder.
Delete all files and folders in the Temp folder.

 

If it doesn't help. Any more details would be great appreciated!

Thanks. We have the same version number and we have performed the suggestions below and are still having the same issue.

 

  • I started a new power bi file and created a calendar and tried to mark that as a date table and got the same message
  • I used an imported calendar table (we use for our other models) and still got the same message.
