We're using PowerBI Embedded to display reports within our platform but are experiencing consistent timeouts after they're open and being actively used for 5-6 minutes. When the report times out, our users have to refresh their screen, which causes them to lose their place / filters and start their analysis all over again.
We're using PowerBI Version: 2.54.4970.761 64-bit (January, 2018)
We're using DirectQuery to access the data on an Azure SQL Database (Elastic Premium pool @ 500 DTU) and we're not not running out of resources.
The timeout issue does not happen when opening the .pbix files directly with PowerBI Desktop. This only happens when being rendered with powerbi embedded.
Any tips on what to look at to get this to work for longer periods of time?
I've put together a sample of what data i'm using and what I see here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=18K70ckwnFAxrq26vBd2PJp-oWLkdpHRw
There's a sql file there to create the same database, the pbix file I use (you'd just need to point it to your Azure database), and screenshots of the timeout.
Thanks,
Quinton
