Power BI Desktop crashes: Input string was not in correct format

Tried to install Power BI desktop on a new computer and it gives me this error message: "Input string was not in correct format". I have no gatway installed. Tried to reinstall a couple of times but it doesnt help. What can I do to resolve this?

Please make sure your computer meets the Minimum requirements. You can also try with both 64 bit and 32 bit version. If issue still persists, I suggest you to create a support ticket at http://support.powerbi.com (see bottom of page).
