Passing Parameters to a Stored Procedure or table function in DirectQuery mode

Hi,

I've found that it is possible to call a stored procedure (using OPENROWSET) pass in parameters when using DirectQuery mode.

However, this is only possible in PowerBI Desktop. Once the pbix is uploaded to an embedded workspace, there is no way to modify parameter values. (This works fine in import mode)

Is there any way to do this?

@apurohit ,

I am afraid that it is not possible to modify parameter in Power BI Service  for directquery dataset, you would need to modify the parameter in Power BI Desktop and then re-publish the PBIX file.

If you concern about this issue, please submit a feature request in Power BI ideas forum.

Regards,
Lydia

Thanks for the quick response @Anonymous. Do you know if there are plans to add this functionality? Is there a timeframe?

@apurohit ,

As far as I know, currently , there are no plans to add this functionality. You can create a feature request in Power BI ideas forum, once many people vote this idea, Power BI team would consider to add this feature.
