Hi @Anonymous,

 

In Power BI service, Azure Analysis Service data source doesn't require any gateway. So you needn't to create a data source in Manage Gateways.

thankyou @v-qiuyu-MSFT for the useful information. i did not find the same in the documentation.

so in this case the reports always runs with the account which we used to connect to azure analysis services from power bi desktop right?

Also if i have multiple reports that are using azure analysis services and if i want to change the account,do i need to open all the respective reports and redeploy to power bi service?

Hi @Anonymous,

 

When you go to dataset settings, as long as you type the valid credential which is able to access Azure Analysis Service, the dataset can get data fine. 

 

If you have multiple reports get data from Azure Analysis Service, you can go to dataset settings then edit credential for each dataset. You needn't edit in desktop then redeploy, you can just do it in Power BI service.

Hi @v-qiuyu-MSFT ,

i am using the live connection to Azure Analysis Services but i dont see any data sources in my settings.

FYI i am a power bi administrator role and i have deployed this report to power bi service.

Can you please check how can i update my data source credentials to an other one?

Hi @Anonymous,

 

Please open the report in Power BI desktop, go to Data Source Settings check if only this Azure Analysis Service data source exists.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

As suggested above i opened the pbix in desktop went to 

File --> Options and Settings --> Datasource Settings and i see the below connections in under Global Permissions

File --> Options and Settings --> Datasource Settings and i see the no connections in under Datasource settings for current file.

However if i go directly to Edit Queries and Datasource Settings i see only the below popup screen which has the azure connection details.

Not sure where you would like me to remove the connections for other sources is it under Global Permissions,please suggest,thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

 

Please publish this report "Sales Actuals_Azure_Test2" to Power BI service, then go to the Dataset Settings, check if any gateway is required. As it's live connection, Data Source Settings should not available as well. Please upload screenshot about dataset settings of this report here.

Hi v-qiuyu-MSFT,

As suggested i have deployed the report and find the screenshot of the dataset settings and i cant find the datasource details over here.

FYI,i had also attached the dataset settings for another report above which even does not show my datasource settings but both the reports are working good.

Please suggest how to change my datasource credentials?
