March 2025 Update - Error fetching data for this visual

Hi,

After the March update (Version: 2.141.1253.0 64-bit (March 2025)), almost all of the visuals are showing errors.

Here is the prompt when clicking "See details":

Error fetching date for this visual

An expected error occured (file " , line , function ").

Hope this issue be reverted soon.

I downloaded the 32-bit version from the website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494&msockid=0adcb4b7b28a64ba32b3a176b3eb6...); I no longer see the error message on this version now!

I'm having the same issue. It would be nice if the updates were tested before they released.

I am also seeing this error. The app was running just fine, then it must have updated in the background. When I opened up my .pbix file, several visuals now have error fetching data. They are all line charts that are using the "Relative date" filter option on a date field. Removing the filter gets rid of the error, but that is not a solution as this ends up being a feature loss.

This is not acceptable and needs to be fixed or rolled back immediately. I have multiple charts on widely used reports that are now broken.

I always try to install from MS Store or enable auto-update, so that you always have the latest version. But this release is the perfect example why it's good to *not* auto-update. I have since downgraded to v2.140.1577.0 x64 and everything is working again. Archive version located here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update-archive?tabs=powerbi-d... (labelled as 2.140.1078.0) and filename PBIDesktopSetup-2025-02_x64.exe. FWIW I am also running on ARM64.

Stinkys - you are a live saver. I was able to roll back to the February 2025 release for now. What is even more perplexing is that others who have the March 2025 update are not having the same issue; across a smattering of hardware. Thank you so very, very much!

I'm on ARM64 as well. Wonder if it has something to do with that as it isn't affecting everyone.

Likley tbuck - I have one member on staff who I'm mentoring PBI with a Surface Laptop with an Intel i7 and he is not having the same issues. I have been extremely satisfied with the compatibility of the ARM Snapdragon X, but PBI does a LOT of heavy lifting in our organization, and I was in a full on panic prior to rolling the version back.
