Map Visual Enabling not working

Hello,
I am connected to an organization with Microsoft 365 Pro suite, and an IT department administers my Power BI Pro account.

For the last week, I encountered a bug with my Power BI Map Visuals, where particularly Basic Map and Filled Map selectively do not work.

Last week, one day it worked, next day it did not work, the other day it worked, and then the other day it did not work.

I asked to check the Map enabling feature to the admin from IT, and despite their efforts, I keep encountering the default Map Visuals not working. Does anyone have any ideas or insights as to what might not work?

Besides this issue, I can at least get to work Azure Maps, ArcGIS Maps, and other downloadable Map Visuals from the marketplace. However, such issues with a Pro license should not arise this often.

I would appreciate any feedback,
Sincerely,

AF92uB

Hi @StreytFeyz ,

Make sure power bi desktop has been update to the latest version and you can access bing map via browser. Click "Option"-> "Data load", clear the cache and reopen power bi. Then check if this issue persists.

Best regards.

Hi @Anonymous

I did as you recommended. It works now, but I will clear cache regularly if the issue reappears, and report any particular findings I discover along the way.

As for other measures, changing a model from Summarization to Data Type (Latitude/Longitude) also made the default Map visual work, although I know this is not the solution. For now, I am clear.

Sincerely,

Hello,
I checked today to find out that the issue persists. The reason due to admin portal not recognizing the Map feature enabled by admin portal (the IT of my organization). IT claimed to have enabled it a while ago, but the issue is consistent at preventing Maps to work.

I have two images to explain myself. The former image was from after I followed @Anonymous's advice, and the latter was from today.

I would appreciate any other advice anyone could have for this. As far as I found out, Bing is accessible, but it is not the default Search Engine for Msft Edge in my organization. This occurs for both Online and Desktop editions of Power BI. I updated to 1/10/2023 edition of PBI Desktop.

Sincerely,
