Managing reports permissions with security groups

I have created links to for all my reports and used AD security groups to give people permissions.  If I add a person to the group that has access to the report via the link that I created previously the user never sees the report that I gave them access too via the group.  if I then send them a new link and give them access using their AD user name and they click on the link to get access to the report they have access to that report now.  I then can delete the link that I sent to just to that one user that I gave permissions to directly the report still show up in the users list of reports as it should.

Why when i just add them to the security group does the user not get access to the report via the link that was created for that security AD group?  I have to send an additional link for that specific person and they must click on it to get access to the report.  Once they have done that I can delete the specific link for just that one user.  the user because they are added to the security AD group will contniue to see the report via the original link.

Hi @jeffwbyers ,

Could not reproduce it in my side as far as my test.

When you share a report to the security group, bascially you need to send the link to the group manually and people in the group could access this report via the link cause that security group would not receive e-mails.

The report would first appear in 'Shared with me' tab when they first open the shared link and it will still be there until you delete the shared link.

Then when you give direct access to the security group of this report, the report would appear in the tab directly and people in the security group could access it.
