Issue with filter in PBI Services

Today 6.2.2020 we've start to expirience issues with standard filter visual in Power BI Services only. Working with filters in Power BI Desktop or Power BI app for mobile device is normal. It highlights selected filters as usual but visuals do not react to it at all. The issue appears when I navagate from default page. Basically if you open you report the filters on default page will work as expected. If you navigate to another tab with filters (or not) filters on selcted page will stop filter data. If you navigate back to default page the filters will not work as well.

 

This issue exist in my all reports in all workspaces I own.

@Tamriko ,

 

I have made a test on your issue but couldn't reproduce it. The slicer works well after I switch between different pages.

Today i've noticed that in one of my reports where I experience issue 3 pages works fine. Navigating between them also fine. When I navigate to the one where issue exist everything stops working. I susspected that this might relate to slicer synched pages but it not confirmed.

 

In addtion If i click Edit Report in PBI Services after expirirncing issue I am unable to create new page in my report.

 

The reports difficulty from data model and storage size are quite vary. There are reports which were published in 2018 and since then not touched. They are very simple and small reports.

 

I am sure that this issue is not related to my models and visuals use. It works as expected in Power BI Desktop. Report start to have issue based on same model which was published last time around 1 month ago. Also, it is suspicious that other old very simple reports start to have the issue.

 

I suspect "code" related issue...

Hi All,

 

The issue is occuring when you have Date hierarchy fields utilized as slicers in the report pages. To address the issue, for the time being, you can replace the Date hierarchy fields with dedicated Year,Month,.. fields created using DAX.

 

Somehow the filter pane is also affected in such reports (where such slicers are utilized), whereas other report pages are working fine.

 

Hope the MS team will resolve this issue/bug soon.

Hi, I have also made a test on hierarchy slicer and sync slicers on both desktop and service. The result is same between power bi desktop and slicer. I would suggest you create a support ticket here for further analysis.
