Issue with dataset not updating after adding additional data

I added a new dataset to an already existing dataset, just an additional connection but it will not refresh and i recceive the below message:

Underlying error message: Information is needed in order to combine data

Did you create a data source for the new dataset ? If no , you need to add a data source for the dataset  .
