Issue - power BI Service cannot refresh access db data.

Morning all,

I am running in to a problem trying to use data stored in an access database on a one drive account.

connecting to the data in PowerBI Desktop everything work correctly. and the data can be refreshed. as soon as i publish the report to the web service the data refresh stops working with the following error.

  • Processing errorMicrosoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987.

i have followed the link and installed the 64bit drivers but the same error happes everytime the data trys to refresh.

Has anyone come across this before? is there a work around? or am i just missing something stupid.

Thanks,

Colin.

Hi @Anonymous

How about your Desktop ? 32 bit ? Or 64 bit ?  Power BI only have 64 bit gateway, it is by design to leverage only 64 bits drivers.

You can also refer to the similar cases below .

Hi @Anonymous

If you see the report in Service , it is normally .If you refresh the dataset in Service , you will get an error , right ? If so, you need to check that your gateway is functioning properly. Whether the configuration of your data source is successful.
