I am working with a client who has Premium capacity and uses deployment Pipelines (Dev > Test > Prod)
This afternoon one of my team had gone into power bi service and copied an existing report by using the 'Save as' feature. On realising this had created the report in the production workspace they selected 'Delete' on this new report. This proceded to delete not just the report but also the original dataset that had been deployed separately and all the associated production reports related to the dataset.
The report that was copied was a report created in a .pbix file that had a live connection to the published power bi dataset. This report was deployed through the environments using the deployment pipelines.
I was able to replicate the same behaviour again in the same environment. It did not do the same when I deleted a report that had been deployed through the environments using the deployment pipelines.
I have never had issues before where deleting a report would delete the entire dataset. Please investigate
