Hyperlink not opening upon click within web portal that leverages Power BI embedded

I'm having an issue getting a table hyperlink to open a new window upon clicking it. When I create a hyperlink in a table visual and apply the Web URL data category setting, I'm able to click the hyperlink and open a new browser tab through Desktop as well as through PBI Service. However, when I navigate to our custom web portal that leverages Power BI embedded and I click the hyperlink, nothing happens where no new winow tab is opened. The only thing I can do is right-click on the hyperlink and select "Open link in new tab". I would expect I can click on the hyperlink without issue. Is this a bug?

Hi @Magellan2022 

I created a report with URL and publish to Service . Then I embedded the report to website , I copied the report link and then opened it in my broswer . I clicked the URL in embed report and it can be opened directly .

Thank you for confirming on your end that a hyperlink opens a new tab as one should expect. One of the reports we have leverages the custom visual "PureViz Infographic" and so we added a hyperlink URL to see what happens. Turns out we are able to open the link in a new window upon clicking it. We're going to be meeting with our web developer to further troubleshoot the issue.

We hit the button F12 to see the code being executed when the hyperlink is clicked in the report that is embedded in the web site. The javascript being executed on the click event wasn't coded originally to handle opening external hyperlinks which is why a new browser window wasn't opening up. The web developer updated the javascript to fix the issue.
