Hi,
I've been experiencing a strange error for the past 1-2 months and haven't been able to overcome it despite my troubleshooting. I believe it was a change made in an update that has caused this error as I was not experiencing it beforehand.
The error is, unhelpfully, "No error message available, result code: E_UNEXPECTED(0x8000FFFF)." and occurs when I try to refresh my Queries.
I am using a Power BI report that uses data from an Access Database and an Excel Spreadsheet. Oddly, this error will not appear for the first minute or two of having opened the Report and refreshing. If I leave the report open for more than a short period of time (I'm talking a few minutes here), this E_UNEXPECTED error will occur upon Refresh.
I have tested this occurance using my 'real' Report for work, and on a fresh Power BI report that is linked to brand new Access Database and Excel files. This is not an issue relating to query steps as there are none. This also isn't an issue relating to the contents of the data, as I have entered a few sample records for both data sets (letters and numbers only).
The error does not occur if I only use an Access Database data file, but once an Excel file is in the mix, this error occurs.
Any insight is much appreciated, this has been a nightmare to make any adjustments to my Report.
Thanks,
Joe
