Gateway issues

Refreshes are suddenly failing where they've been set up by users through a gateway, with the following error appearing:
ServerError_DMTS_MonikerDatasourcesNotFoundErrorCode

And going into the gateway to reset them, the users are getting the following message.

DamoUK_0-1747814704386.png

Users do have access and permission to the gateways, but only Admins seem to be able to reset the gateways now.

This is resulting in numerous refresh failures, and started happening either late yesterday or early today.

Hi I have raised this on the Power Bi Forum as I have had issues - https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/ServerError-DMTS-MonikerDatasourcesNotFoundErrorCo...

Same issue here. Our gateway connection access is managed through groups, but users in the groups can't see the connections anymore. Work around was adding users directly to gateway connections and they can see all again.

My gateway permissions are also managed through (security) groups. But as I have around 100 data connections, I have no intention of changing it to all the individuals. This needs fixing.

Hi Please note that Microsoft replied to my post - https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/ServerError-DMTS-MonikerDatasourcesNotFoundErrorCo... Any thoughts? Thanks Karen

Also experiencing the same issue. Any non-admins accessing the workspaces end up triggering the issue all over again and I have to reconnect each report to the gateway again. Paginated reports are showing this error too, even after reconnecting: An unexpected error occurred There was an error contacting an underlying data source. Manage your credentials or gateway settings on the management page. Please verify that the data source is available, your credentials are correct and that your gateway settings are valid. Hi, please note that I have just refreshed my reports and noted that suddenly the datasources reappeared - I did not change anything at all. Refreshes are now working. Microsoft have not replied to our other questions on the other post about this - https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/ServerError-DMTS-MonikerDatasourcesNotFoundErrorCo... still awaiting a response. Thanks Karen

Hi Karen,

Appreciate the updated. Gave it a go internally here as well and the issue seems to be resolved, removed the users directly from connections and they could still see them available.

I Imagine it will be a swept under the rug fix and we won't hear anything back.

I encountered the same issue with the Power BI Desktop May 2025 version while running it on a Mac using Parallels. However, I discovered that the problem occurs when using measures that contain IF or SWITCH statements. As a workaround, I was able to rewrite these measures using a DIVIDE(expression, if valid then 1 else 0) strategy. I hope this helps you overcome the issue and assists @v-venuppu @Microsoft in gaining a better understanding of its root cause. BTW: I still find it surprising that the issue does not occur on an Intel-based machine. Best regards, Frank van Zuilen, Pilares

Hi, Did the issue appear after upgrading the gateway to May version 3000.270.10? If the issue is related to this version, should we wait a new sub-version before upgrading the gateway?

When should we expect a new version?

@Madalina2801 This problem appears to have been rectified, though I've seen no official word from Microsoft to confirm that - our issues have certainly stopped. With regards to the Gateway version, I'm on a several months old version, so nothing to do with the May release that I know of.
