Field Descriptions Disappearing after Data Transformation

Hello, 

we experienced the following issue alongside of the creation of various datasets:

We're importing several tables with technical dimension names. Thus, we're renaming the dimensions in PBI and removing the not needed columns during data transformation. The original dimension names are entered as "field description" in the properties window available via model view.

The Problem:

If we, for example, need one of the previously removed dimension, we change the data transformation step accordingly. The dimension now shows up. Yet, all manually entered descriptions for the dimensions of the affected table are being deleted. The fields are empty.

The Question:

Is this working as intentend, if so: why is this the desired functionality?

If not, is this a known bug?

Will be working on a fix for the April release of Desktop and will add it to one of the iterations for the March release.
