Date format "MMMM yyyy" missing after the update of March Power BI version

Hello Team,

Prior to update of Power BI Desktop verison to the latest one, I was able to select the Date Format "MMMM yyyy" & same was visible in my reports too.

However, after the update, now I get the Date Format option "MMMM, yyyy". It is with a Comma "," in b/w which is annoying.

The strange thing here is, there are few of my colleagues in same Organization from Australia who also updated the Power BI to their latest version, but are not facing this issue.

They do get the original date format reflected in their Desktop version of Power BI. However, I'm not. Since on majority of times, we update the same .PBIX files, when I am done with my update & PUBLISH the report, the date format changes and my Australian colleagues working on same .PBIX files, have to manually edit the date format every time, they see it is incorrect due to me. I am located in INDIA & have also tried changing the System Locale settings from English (US) to English "Australia", but that did not help either.

Original Date Format Option, which has now eloped & 2nd snapshot of "Date Format" options available now.

Please help to resolve this issue asap !!

Hi @Gurbachan1,

I'm not able to reproduce the issue on my side. The latest Power BI desktop version is 2.57.5068.721 64-bit (April 2018), are you running this version?

Hi Qiuyun Yu,

I am also using the same Build version of Power BI & the strange part is that I have checked it on MULTIPLE systems in my organization with latest version of Power BI installed. They all have the same "Date Type" options as mine. None of them have the Date type option of "MMMM yyyy" as highlighted in earlier comment.

Please find below snapshot of the Power BI Build version on my Laptop.

I am getting a feeler, is this issue related to Locale or Regional System settings or is it anything to do with systems in India installing this software. Could you please check & confirm.

Hi @Gurbachan1,

From the screenshot, it seems you download and install the English version desktop, right?

Would you please share your OS region settings? So I can try to reproduce it on my side.

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
