Dataflow not allowing direct query

We have a dataflow that was being direct queried by a semantic model but at some point today the direct query capability has stopped working. The dataflow and semantic model have both not been adjusted and the enhanced compute engine settings are turned on.

Any ideas on the cause? is this a Microsoft side issue or has there been an update where additional settings are now required?

Hi @a_hill ,

To use DirectQuery with dataflows, you must explicitly toggle the enhanced compute engine to On in dataflow settings. You must then refresh the dataflow before it can be consumed in DirectQuery mode.

Hi,

enhanced compute engine is already on and was on previously, the functionality stopped working yesterday and has resolved itself today which suggests there was an issue on Microsofts side but there are no feeds that provide any details around this or the cause.

Same here, was working previously, currently had to switch back to Legacy. August 2024 update broke it.

Well....Microsoft is braking all solutions integrating with in Fabric.

Had this working in direcQuery pulling from DataFlow....It stopped working

I have tried

- To create a new report using Legacy connector, this is the error when I drag a field into the canvas.

- To Create a new report using new data PowerPlatform Connector Source = PowerPlatform.Dataflows(null)

- To Create BlankQuery and paste M code.

Currently only works if I switch to Import Mode...

Microsoft....stop messing the product and pay few testers befor you push your changes to production.

I cannot beleive...after 2 hours....the report start working again with no changes..

I love it...if business user ask what´s happening...I will answer ..... SURPRISE !!!!!!
