Data Label for Stacked Bar Chart not displaying properly

Using a stacked bar chart. Data labels enabled. Total labels enabled. When a single selection is made via a slicer, some of the data labels appear 'Inside end' when the Format pane clearly marked as 'Outside end'. There is not way to get the labels to appear outside end as is preferred. This appears to be a bug.

From my testing result, my result seem to be normal, the data label appears properly. As the following shows

and I didn't find "'Outside end'option, can you give me some more detailed steps of your whole process?

Where you encountered this issue ? And What's your version?

Hello @Anonymous - please add a slicer to the page and select one value in the slicer. Then the data label should appear incorrectly and you will see the option for 'outside end'. thank you

I have add slicer and select one value, it still doesn't have anything problem. Steps as following shows, is there other different progress from yours?

Hi @Anonymous - the slicer I am using is the same field as the legend. Can you update your example to try that scenario? My version is currently September 2022 version. Thank you

This is a bug and will be fixed more permanently soon. Rough ETA will probably be in a few months.

Workaround:

1. Cluster charts will create the appropriate amount of space.

2. In the property pane, if the customer goes to the y-axis properties, they can set a custom maximum that will ensure there is enough space.
