Cannot upload CSV or Excel data to Power BI online

Usually when i am to upload my CSV and Excel files onto Power BI online a prompt comes up saying "Don't see the source you're looking for? Download the desktop app or try these options"... however, now the "try these options" part is not appearing and i have no way of downloading my data sets... can anyone help resolve this problem?

Please update your CSV and Excel files in Workspace => Upload .

@jjwise It took me forever to find it, but rather than selecting upload (which will just upload your Excel or csv file to the Power BI environment ... which seems somewhat useless), click on New and select Dataset from the drop down menu. You can then browse to find the file stored either locally or on your OneDrive. 

I don't know why this process was made so unnecesarily frustrating.

To import Excel/ CSV file data into Power BI service, Go to My workspace> New > Semantic model > Upload Excel/ CSV, and then select the file.

Hi. This is a dumb question but I've been trying to solve this for hours. My power bi does not allow me to upload my Excel file in my workspace. And when I click Browse and look for the file, it does not let me upload  Appreciate if anyone knows how to solve this
