Hi, expert, I use the lcoal csv files as the datasets and it's always successful when I publish my report to PowerBI Service. but when I want to open the usage matrix report, it says the usage data is outdated, and I'm always failed when I want to refresh the dataset as the error attached below.

Could you help with this, or guide me on how to solve this issue, thanks a lot.

Hi @Weimin ,

Please go to Settings>Datasets, select the corresponding dataset and go to Gateway connection, check the status, then in Data source credentials, check if any data source need to be edited credential.

Thank you so much for your reply. Could you please help me a bit more? When I tried to follow your instructions to do the check, I found that I couldn’t do anything about the Gateway and data source credentials as shown in the attached screenshot. What can I do about it?

Hi @Weimin ,

To refresh a dataset connects to on-premise data source, you should first Install an on-premises data gateway, then add a gateway data source, after that, go to above settings, turn on the Gateway connection option.

If you need more help, please feel free to contact me.

Hello Yanjiang, I have a question. If I opt not to utilize an on-premise gateway, would it still be possible for me to refresh my datasets and update my usage metrics when I publish my report to Power BI service, just as I was able to do previously? I have always been able to refresh my datasets and access the usage metrics, which allowed me to analyze report usage. However, for reasons unknown to me, I have been unable to refresh them since February 1st. I am eager to continue using the usage metrics, so I was wondering if you have any advice on how I can do so.
